Halloween decorations

Audra and I put up some Halloween decorations in the room that her mom sent her. I especially like the tree with the owl on it.

Just some random nights during the week!

The first couple are of me and my suite mate Lauren making some Velveeta mac and cheese one night for dinner! The next one is of my friend Jamie getting his haircut for the first time at Brockport by our friends in his dorm! And the last two are a late night getting milkshakes at Trax! :)

Late night adventures with my roomie

So when Passion Pit came to play at Brockport, there were people handing out Eco cards that had seeds planted inside of them. Audra had a plastic container that she didn't need so we went out to Cooper late at night and took some soil and planted our cards. Hopefully the seeds are for flowers and not plain grass. We used sunglasses that I got from Glow Fest as our own personal shovel.

Holly Falls bike trip

So my LLC, Health and Fitness had a bike ride planned yesterday afternoon to Holly Falls. We all rode on tandem bikes and it was funny how we were all falling over and had to trust each other and communicate to not fall. Overall, it was definitely worth it and I had a lot of fun with my friends and hanging out with new people.

Helping my RA make the Thompson banner

Audra and I helped our RA Melissa last night make a banner for our building for the football game today. The best banner would win a prize. Sadly, we didn't win the banner contest and Brockport also lost the football game.

The start of something new..

Well this semester has certainly started out great, and a whole lot differently than I thought it would be. The first day, the move in was great! The hockey guys moved us in, taking all my belongings I needed for my dorm right up to my suite :)! I LOVE my suite, and all the people I've met so far. I didn't expect people to be so nice, but they truly are here. My classes have all been pretty good, can't complain, not too much homework, just a lot of reading. But the weekends are my favorite, they are so much fun here. There is always something here to do. Even weeknights, walking down the halls of Benedict and Dobson with my suitemates and meeting up with our newly made friends, I have the best times. The first pictures up top are of my suite! The last picture on the bottom is of me with my two suitemates Lauren and Jessica, on the first saturday night we got here!

Introduction

Hey! I'm Kaity and I'm from Brooklyn, New York. I live with my parents, and my 22 year old sister Betsy. I'm planning to major in Nursing and Spanish and minor in French here at Brockport. I honestly chose Brockport because firstly its far from home, (about 8 and half hours) and secondly, it felt like home the first time I visited. But Brockport is definitely different from what I'm used to. Brockport is more quiet, has a lot less concrete, but it's starting to feel like a second home. You can't help but like it here when everyone is so nice!

I'm enjoying my time here so far. I basically spend my day in my dorm studying besides going out to eat with my friends. Bio 111 is kicking my butt with all the reading I have to do, and Film History 250 makes me fall asleep. My other classes are pretty enjoyable especially French. I took French in high school all four years, and since this is an introductory class, for me its more of a review. I can't wait for my Spanish classes which I think I get to take next semester. I miss my Spanish food from home and talking in the language on a daily basis, so it will be like going home in a sense.

Ah! I forgot to mention my roommate's name is Audra. We get along really well. That's something every freshman worries about before moving in, but I was lucky because we mesh well together.
